Our Approach

Our approach to veterinary medicine is integrative.  We practice traditional Western medicine with the most current diagnostic tools and pharmaceuticals.  However, we realize Eastern modalities, including acupuncture and Chinese herbs, can complement a traditional Western approach.  We believe a combination of Eastern and Western therapies will give our patients the best of both worlds.

How do we integrate western and eastern medicine into traditional veterinary care?

Western diagnostic tools, such as radiographs and blood work, are utilized to diagnosis illness and disease in the patient.  If it is indicated, acupuncture and Chinese herbs will be recommended as additional treatment modalities and are often prescribed in combination when the patient is not responding to traditional Western medicine.

Acupuncture appointments are can range between ten minutes and one hour.  The number of treatments depends on the severity of the condition.  A single treatment may treat an acute condition while a series of 5-10 treatments may be necessary for a chronic condition.  Some degenerative conditions may require monthly treatments over the course of several months.
