| The story of Louie......
Louie was brought into the clinic over the weekend as an emergency by one of our clients. They had found Louie in a parking lot of the Days Inn, not far from the clinic. He was obviously a puppy but was very lethargic and vomitting.
A parvo test was done immediatly and his results were positive. His rescuer chose to pursue an aggressive treatment involving three days of hospitalization, an IV catheter and lots of fluids. When he returned to his new home he was like a new dog. He was playful and recovering fully. He is one of Dr. Barnes star cases and was the subject of her parvo seminar earlier this year.
Parvo can be a deadly virus for young dogs. It is important to get them vaccinated, and if they do contract parvo, an aggressive treatment must be intiated in order to achieve the best outcome.
